John H. Grose

John H. Grose, 82, of Summersville, WV went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the WVU Summersville Regional Medical Center.  Born January 21, 1941 in Summersville, WV he was a son of the late Patrick and Phala Cavendish Grose.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles R. Grose, Homer S. Grose, and Gerald L. Grose.

      He attended the Calvary Baptist Church at Summersville; was an Army Veteran and a member of the 101st Airborne Division, was retired from Island Creek Coal with 30 years of service.  He loved to be outdoors and was an avid hunter. 

      Survivors include two daughters, Karla K. Hickey and Farrah L. Tyler; one son, John B. Grose; one twin brother, James H. Grose; grandchildren, Timothy John Hickey and Mattie K. Grose.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the White Funeral Home in Summersville with Pastor Ryan Trescott officiating.  Interment will follow in the Grose Family Cemetery in Summersville.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
