Allan Herman Morris

       Allan Herman Morris, 77, of Mt. Nebo, WV passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Rivers Health Hospital in Point Pleasant, WV.  Born June 27, 1946 at Lizemores, WV he was a son of the late Arling and Sarah Alma Morton Morris.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Newland; sister, Debbie White; and a host of musician friends.

      He attended the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church at Runa, a member of the Gauley Bridge Masonic Lodge, a member of the Eastern Star, a Vietnam Veteran serving on the USS Prairie (AD-15), a retired coal miner, and was a member of the UMWA.  He was a member of many country, western and bluegrass groups throughout his lifetime, gave Keith Whitley and Johnny Paycheck guitars also gave guitars to local, struggling musicians when they were in need.  He will be greatly missed throughout the music community by his friends.

      Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Lena M. Morris; children, Daniel (Teresa) Morris, Lynnette (Chuck) Stephenson, Nathan (Laura) Morris; siblings, Danny (Dianna) Morris, David Price, Billy (Robin) Morris, Eddie Mullins, Patty Burford; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel Moore, Dakota Brierly, Seth Brierly, Kevin Morris, Mason Morris, Maci Morris, Brycen Morris, and Kaylee Morris; and a host of other family and friends.

      In keeping with Allan’s wishes, he will be cremated.  A memorial service to be held at a later date.  Arrangements were made with the White Funeral Home at Summersville.
