Agnes Anne Bennett, 81, of Summersville, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in the WVU-Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center. Born January 16, 1944 in Summersville, she was a daughter of James and Mary Margarite Dotson Humphrey. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo Sebert and Elizabeth White; one brother, James Humphrey.
She was a member of Saint John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Summersville, was a former beautician and owner/operator of Anne’s Beauty Shop, a longtime manager of Summersville Place, was the family and church historian, and she loved to sew, bake, and garden. She was an avid animal lover who loved hummingbirds. Her most important values in her life were her faith, family, and her children.
Survivors include her son, Michael (Denise) Richards; daughter, Amy (Keith) Ingels; twin sister, Jane Rogers; grandson, Evan (Massiel) Richards; and close family members, Mary Ann Key, Jill Rogers and Meg Simpkins; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Friends may call at the Marist Hall in Summersville on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Saint John the Evangelist Church in Summersville with Father Rene Gerona officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Memorial Park in Summersville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Saint John Catholic Cemetery Fund 1704 West Webster Road Summersville, WV 26651.
