Arthur Joseph “Art” Yagel, III, 70, of Summersville, WV passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in WVU-Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center. Born April 19, 1955 in Cornwall, New York, he was a son of the late Arthur Joseph and Helen Marie Vanecek Yagel, II. He was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Joseph Yagel and brother-in-law, Jim Johnson.
He was a member of the Dotson-Simpson United Methodist Church at Summersville and was a retired employee of the WV Division of Forestry with 37 years of service. He was also the owner of the Yagel Poor Farm Christmas Trees at Craigsville.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Thomas; one daughter, Jenny (Joe Nehme) Yagel of Fayetteville; grandson, Owen Nehme; sister, Genny Johnson; nephew, Charlie Johnson; great nephew, James Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025 in the Summersville Arena and Conference Center at Summersville with Chaplain Greg Boso officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville under the direction of the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Summersville.
Friends may call at the Summersville Arena and Conference Center on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
