Barbara Jean Martin

Barbara Jean Martin, 69, of Hico, WV passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.  Born April 7, 1955 at Tacoma, WA she was a daughter of the late Billy and Betty Critchley Spade.  She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roger Dale Spade.

      She attended the Refuge Baptist Church in Hico, was a former employee of Bright of America, and was employed by the US Steelworkers Union 14614.  She enjoyed talking with people and never met a stranger.

      Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Nicholas Allen Martin; siblings, Cathy Kincaid, Brenda Bailey, James Allen Spade, Linda Hypes, Peggy Drennen, Billy Joe Spade, Marilyn White, and Donna Glenn; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

      It was her wish to be cremated and a memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements were made with the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Summersville.
