Betty Kay Chapman

Betty Kay Chapman, 80, of Craigsville, WV went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family on Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.  Born December 12, 1942 in Dorothy, WV she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Jerlie Jones Baire.  She was also preceded in death by Roger Lee Chapman; son, Scotty Lee Chapman; grandson, Grant Chapman; brothers, Bobby, Jimmy, Jackie and Gary Baire.

      She attended the Grace Cathedral in Akron, OH.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, and watching all the old westerns.  She was a kind and giving person helping those that needed it.  She was loved by many and most important, she loved all her grandchildren.

      Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Richard Chapman and Jeffrey Chapman; two brothers, David Baire and Roy Baire; grandchildren, Elizabeth Chapman, Jerlie Chapman Smith, Roger Chapman, Crystal Chapman Friend, Tabitha Chapman Moreland, Cassie Chapman, Tara Cole, Cheyne Reith, Justin Chapman, Jessica Chapman; several great grandchildren; special friends, Kathryn Baire, Barb Baire, Helen Chapman, and Rose Freeman; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

      Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Glade Creek with Pastor Tabitha Moreland officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.
