Carolyn Ann Chapman, 79, of Buckhannon, formerly of Summersville passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born August 25, 1943 at Webster Springs, she was a daughter of the late Arden and Effie Kathryn Armentrout Gregory. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur “Chapy” Chapman, a granddaughter, Stacy Alderman, and a sister, Donna Skaggs.
She was a member of the Mountain State Baptist Church in Summersville and was a retired teacher’s aide with the Nicholas County School System.
Survivors include four children, Jane (Teddy) Alderman, Mary (Ralph) Bailey, Traci (Warren) Abraham, and Jonathan Chapman; grandchildren, TJ (Misty) Alderman, Stephen Alderman, Paula Alderman, Jacob (Maleea) Bailey, Megan Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Allison Bailey, Seth Abraham, Ethan Abraham, Jodi (Rocky) Masters, and Savannah Chapman and fiancé Carson Alderson; great grandchildren, Kady (Cord) Radcliffe, Kobe Alderman, Karlee Alderman, Adalynn Cunningham, Wrenleigh Flint, Kenley Chapman; Kaci Masters, and Levi Bailey; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022 in the White Funeral Home at Summersville with Pastor Mark Secrist officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Calvin.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
