Charlene "Charlie" Adams Obituary

Charlene “Charlie” Adams, 82, of Mt. Nebo, WV passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in Summersville Healthcare Center. She was born April 14, 1941 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Charlie was a daughter of the late William Roscoe and Violet Hopper Stepp. She was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Murphy.

      Charlie attended Gilgal United Methodist Church at Mt Nebo, WV. Charlie was a loving wife, mother and grand and great mother.  Her greatest joys were her family, her Lord and her love of gardening. Charlie was a determined woman who loved and raised 4 children before fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She retired from Fayette Continuous Care as well as Tavernier Nursing Home in Tavernier Florida.

      Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 66 years, Robert “Sarge” Adams; children, Estill “Cubby” (Teresa) Adams, Kyle “Kookie” (Elaine) Adams, Tonja (Eric) Morgan, and Joseph “Joe” (Michele) Adams. Siblings; Betty Wayman, Alice McGregor, Brenda White, Ray Stepps and J.D. Stepps; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

      It was her wish to be cremated and a time of calling and fellowship will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 2-4 pm. at Whites Funeral Home.  Following the events at the funeral home, there will be a time of food and fellowship at Gilgal United Methodist Church, Song Convention Road, Mt. Nebo, WV at 5:00pm.

      In lieu of flowers, a contribution in her memory may be made to:  Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, Florida 33131.

      The Adams family would like to say thank you to the Summerville Health Care Center. Their staff gave wonderful care and attention to "Charlie".   A very special thank you to Kristen, Samantha, Sam, Kayla and Norma for always going the extra mile.
