Charles Ray McClung 85, faithful servant to the Lord passed away
peacefully at home on May 29, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born August
31,1939 in Mount Nebo, WV to the late Ray V. and Norma E. Gwinn
McClung. Also preceded in death by sisters LouVerna (Robert Warren)
Copeland, Phyllis Jean McClung, Hilda Wheeler, Barbara (Jennings) Lilly
and former wife Doris J. Dennison McClung, mother to his two daughters
Pamela McClung Waugh and Erica McClung of Mount Nebo. In addition to
his daughters, he is survived by his wife Rachel Brown Hughart McClung of
Dille ,WV and step-children Jaime (Robert) Groves of Mount Lookout, WV,
Rosie Perry of St. Albans, WV, Harold (Christine) Hughart of Slidell, LA, and
Alice McClanahan of Dille, WV. Several nieces, nephews, and Step-grand
children and step-great grandchildren as well as lots of grand children with
paws. He was an avid sports of Marshall and WVU. He was a longtime
member of the Summersville Seventh-Day Adventist Church and also
attended the Summersville Church of the Nazarene. He was a printer and
typesetter by trade having worked for many years at local newspapers, The
Nicholas Chronicle, Braxton Democrat-Braxton Citizen News and Fayette
Tribune. He loved animals, was very particular about his lawn care. He
volunteered at the Seventh Day Adventist food pantry and performed acts of
service for his church and its brethren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may
be made in his name to the Nicholas County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 579,
Summersville, WV 26651 Service will be held at White Anderson Funeral
Home in Summersville, WV on June 2, 2025 at 1pm with Jonathan Dale
and Pastor Angie Wilson officiating, visitation one hour
prior and burial following at Baughman Cemetery, Birch River, WV.
