Correna L. Hypes

    Correna L. Hypes, 89, of Sutton, WV died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 24, 2024 surrounded by her family.    Correna was born on January 16, 1935 at Nettie;   a daughter of the late Ronald and Flo Persinger Hartley. .  She was also preceded in death by her husband,  Manford Lewis Hypes; four children, Manford Lewis Hypes, Jr., Sandra Kay Hypes, Jerry Allan Hypes, and Rodney Lee Hypes; one brother, Gerald Hartley; and by two sisters, Betty Barnhouse and Shirley Frame.  

     Correna was a Christian and a pastor’s wife.  She attended Tennessee Temple University with her husband in the 1970s.  Her passions later in life were spending time with her grandchildren and showing Home Interior products.  She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.  We are confident we will be with her and all others who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, again in heaven.

     She is survived by her brother, Leon Hartley; daughter, Brenda Morton (Tim); grandchildren, Chris Stover (Misty), Amanda Browning (Shannon), Rodney Hypes, Jr., Tashina Hypes, Madison Morton, and Mason Morton; ten great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Summersville with Pastor Butch Collins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ward Road Cemetery at Nettie.

     Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday one-hour prior to the funeral services.
