Dorothy June Eary (“June”), 88, of Clarksburg, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2024. June was born May 23, 1935, in Nettie, West Virginia, the daughter of Norman and Ella Lester. She attended Richwood High School. After high school, she went through nursing training ultimately working as a nurse for periods of time in Charleston, West Virginia and at John Hopkins Hospital. Though she resided in several places through the years, she most recently lived in Buckhannon, West Virginia and with family in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
June is survived by her daughter, Lynn Prairie, of Clarksburg, grandsons, Robert Prairie and Edward Prairie, both of Clarksburg, granddaughter, Sarah Heflin and husband Stanley, of Clarksburg, and her great grandchildren, Christian, Luke, Isaiah, and Asher Heflin. June was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Ella Lester, daughter Patricia Ann Eary, of Buckhannon, husband, Robert Eary, of Charleston, brother, Buck Lester, of Nettie, and sister, Caroline Ruth Lester, of Cleveland, Ohio.
June lived her life by faith and yearned that all may receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. June’s favorite place to be on this earth was in church and surrounded by the presence of the Lord and her brothers and sisters in Christ. June loved the Lord and her family with all of her heart.
There will be a memorial service for friends and family at Forward Church,100 Nicholas St, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 5:00 pm. Subsequent to the memorial service, there will be a burial held at Fields Cemetery in Nettie, West Virginia, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00am. Flowers can be sent to Forward Church.
