Eveline Jane Meadows passed away on Monday January 2, 2023. Born on December 26, 1924 in Canvas WV, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Edbert and Dessie Groves and sister to three (4) brothers; the late Elmer, Faye, French Groves, Chester Groves, and one (1) sister; the late Ms. Mamie Groves. She was preceded in death by her husband; Edward Meadows, grandson; Phillip Meadows, and son-in-law; Larry Evans.
She is survived by son; Ralph Meadows (Mary Lou), and daughters; Elaine May (Danny), and Vickie Evans. Grandchildren; Cindy Dyer (Tom), Candy May, Steve May (Amy), Mike Evans, Andy Evans (Belinda), Chris Meadows. Great Grandchildren; Abbie Rose (Cody), Sarah Dyer, Brycen May, Aubrey May, Blake May, Aaron Evans (Mandy), Marcus Evans, Logan Evans (Samantha), Ashley LaCasse (Pete), Peyton Styskal, Hadley Styskal, William LeMaster, Lilly Meadows, Rachel Meadows, Christopher Meadows, Carter Meadows, Isiah Griffin, Isabella Griffin, Hannah Scionti. Great- Great Grandchildren; Jason Evans, Brooklynn Evans, AraBella Evans, AnnMarie Nunez, Braylon LaCasse, Maymee Rose, Tayte Rose; and by several nieces and nephews.
Eveline Jane Meadows was the last Charter Member of the Ward Road Free Will Baptist Church. She would like to take a moment to bring consideration to two of her lifelong friends, Rosalee Bryant and Phyllis Rader Dotson. She was affectionally known by many as “Mamaw Evie”. She will be missed terribly by all that knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Ward Road Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Justin Phillips, Willie May, and Aaron Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Ward Road Cemetery under the direction of the White Funeral Home. Friends may call at the church from 11:30 to service time on the day of the service.
