Gary Lowell Dillon, SR, 80, of Tioga, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 26, 2024 at WVU-Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born April 27, 1943 at Tioga, WV, he was a son of the late Lindell and Ruby Jarvis Dillon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ida Carol Dillon; four brothers, James Dillon, Richard Glen Dillon, LeRoy Dillon, Alvin Dillon; four sisters, Ada Sharon Dillon, Wanda Dillon, Nancy Thomas, Janice Starcher; grandson, Alex Dillon and by a great grandchild.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. He was a disabled coal electrician in the coal mines at Mine 1 A, was a member of the UMWA; he loved to play softball, weight lift, and was a longtime basketball coach at Beaver Grade School. He also loved to hunt, fish and dig ramps.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Gary Dillon Jr. of Craigsville and Lindell (Nora) Dillon of McIntyre, GA; one daughter, Karen (Brian Hammons) Dillon of Tioga; 7 grandchildren, Gary L. Dillon, III, Lacie Dillon, Daniel D. Dillon, Jennifer E. Schmidtke, Allen S. Willey, Aaron D. Willey, Rebecca C. Christian; 14 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the White Funeral Home in Summersville with Pastor Lindell Dillon, Trey Dillon and Jason Hypes officiating. Interment will follow in the WV Memorial Gardens at Calvin. Friends may call at the funeral home two hour prior to the services.
