Glover “Shay” McCutcheon, 84, of Canvas, WV passed away at WVU-Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Born August 1, 1937 at Leivasy, he was a son of the late Virgil and Bonnie Arbaugh McCutcheon. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley McCutcheon, two stepsons, Mike Holbert and Kevin Roberts, and by several brothers and sisters.
He attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Summersville, was a retired electrician in the coal mines, and was a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon McCutcheon; two sons, Paul McCutcheon of Nettie and Doug McCutcheon of Alberta, VA; stepsons, Steve Holbert, Del Roberts, Danny Rose, and Michael Rose; stepdaughter, Debbie Dodge; siblings, Evelyn Groves, Sue Witte, and Vernon McCutcheon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the WV Memorial Gardens at Calvin with Pastor Butch Collins officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.
There will be no visitation.
