Helen Worlledge Legg, 86, of Mt. Lookout, WV passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Summersville Healthcare Center. Born May 20, 1938 at Mt. Lookout, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Veda Ramsey Worlledge. She married Jack Legg in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 2012.
Helen was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She lived her entire life in the Mt. Lookout community area. She served as secretary treasurer and as a board member for the Nicholas County Fair for many years. Helen loved farming, travelling, and she was a wonderful cook.
In addition to her first husband, parents, one brother and two sisters, she was also preceded in death by one grandson, Bradley Legg in 2009 and by one granddaughter, Janiece Legg in 2011. She is survived by her second husband, Damon Donahue; sons, Bill (Cindy) Legg of Grandview, George Legg of Mt. Lookout, and Randy (Kelly) Legg of Mt. Lookout; stepson, Jerry Donahue of Nettie. She is also survived by grandchildren, Randall (Jeanette) Legg, Jordan (Elizabeth) Legg, Dustin (Cynidel) Legg, Jonathan (Cati) Legg, Makala (Chase) Cutlip, Brandon Lilly, Lane Lilly, and Ric’Kell (Cody) Lusk; seventeen great grandchildren. Also one sister, Sandy (Dr. Jerome) Massenburg; numerous nieces and nephews from both sides of her family.
The family would like to thank caregivers, Patsy Shaffer, Rhonda Helems, Rita Estep and the staff at Summersville Healthcare Center for the loving care they provided for Helen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Pool with Ministers Doug Beam and Jordan Legg officiating. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the funeral services at the church on Friday. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery at Mt. Lookout.
