Helen Lee Safreed

Helen Safreed, 93, of Summersville, WV passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Sweetbrier Assisted Living Center in Dunbar.  Born December 24, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Groves Stowers.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bradley “Whit” Safreed, Jr and one daughter, Marian Lee Safreed.

      She was a member of the Summersville Memorial United Methodist Church and held numerios officices within the church and was in the women’s circle.  She was also a member of the Mountain Lake Garden Club.

      Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Patricia (Fred) Fogleman of Summersville; one son, Richard (Lisa) Safreed of Summersville; sister-in-law, Carolyn Safreed Bailey of Charleston; grandchildren, Camille Fogleman and her companion, Ken Abramson of Charlotte, NC and Mindy (Eric) Bostic of Summersville; great grandchildren, Luke, Sydney, Bradley, Maci Bostic and Landon Abramson; and a host of other family and friends.

      Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the Walker Memorial Park in Summersville with Pastor Dave Lancaster officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.  There will be no public visitation.
