Henry Hill Russell

     Henry Hill Russell, 88, of Summersville, WV passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 in the Stonerise Nursing Home at Beckley.  Born September 29, 1933 at Lockwood, he was a son of the late Earl Hill and Amelia Pearl O’Dell Russell.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wavalene Shortridge Russell; one brother, Gene Russell; and by two sisters, Maude Moore and Jane McLaughlin.

     He was an Army veteran, a retired truck driver for Ford Motor Company and more recently, Enterprise Car Rental, and was a former owner of Summersville Taxi.  He was a lifelong resident of Summersville.

     Survivors include his brother, Allen and Brenda Russell of Milton and one sister, Marlene Ullom of Barboursville; stepson, Roger and Mary Shortridge; several nieces and nephews; and his K9 companion, Abie.

     Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM  on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville with John Foster officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.

     There will be no visitation.
