Hobert Daniel Akers

     Hobert Daniel Akers, 96, of Nettie, WV passed away at his son’s home on Monday, April 20, 2026.  Born April 3, 1930 at Meadow Bridge , he was a son of the late Ken and Thelma Painter Akers.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Velma Dorsey Akers and by thirteen siblings.

     He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

     Survivors include his children, Daniel Akers and his fiancée, Crystal Flanagan, Patricia and Gary Bailes, and Dennis Akers and his companion, Grace Fowler, three siblings, Wilbert Akers, Robert Akers, and Mazel Ramsey; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

     Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 in the Fairview Cemetery at Nettie with Pastor Larry Gawthrop officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Summersville.

     There will be no visitation.
