Iris Rose Chapman, 100, of Canvas, WV passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at her home surrounded by her daughter, Linda Buck and good friend, Brenda Tinnel. Born September 18, 1923 at Werth, Nicholas County, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Nora Lemley Hutchinson. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Rodney Hutchinson , Steve, Danny, and Mark Chapman.
She was a devoted Christian, beloved mother and grandmother, and a special friend to many. She loved playing bingo at the Nettie Fire Department and was a huge fan of Rudy Elvis.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Buck; granddaughter, Ashlee (Boo) Johnson of Mullens; great grandson, Noah Hines of Canvas; great granddaughter, River Moore of Canvas; great grandson, Emmett Mitchell of Shady Springs; and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery off Spruce Run Road at Muddlety with Dr. Charles Miller officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.
There will be no visitation.
