James Douglas “Doug” Cogar, 66 of Kesslers Cross Lanes, WV passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 in the Bower’s Hospice House at Beckley after a long illness. Born May 15, 1959 in Warren, OH, he was a son the late Porter and Jean Ann Ramsey Cogar. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steven Cogar.
He was an avid outdoorsman and sharpshooter. He served in the US Army and was a heavy equipment operator at Fola Coal Company.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 39 years, Linda Cogar; two sisters, Joyce (David) Welch of Warren, OH and Renee (Rick) Hanks of Summersville; two nieces, Tasha Hanks and Clarissa (Shanaya) Hanks; one great nephew, Elijah Nicholson; and longtime forever buddy, Gunner.
In keeping with his wish he was cremated. No services will be held at this time.
White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.
