James Edward Taylor, 78, of Summersville, WV passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 in the Ansted Center. Born November 29, 1946 at Winfield, WV, he was a son of the late Hershell Charles and Mimie Ellen Johnson Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his children, Lori Russell and Michael Tylor; siblings, Barbara Munday, Alta Davis, Ellen Cox, Lonnie Taylor, and Chuck Taylor.
He was a member of the Woodbine Baptist Church at Summersville, was a retired computer programmer, and he loved music, old westerns, camping, and attending church. He loved being the center of attention, getting his picture taken, enjoyed family get togethers, watching wildlife and videos of the great grandkids, and he often spoke about wanting to go to his heavenly home.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Taylor of Summersville and Shelly (Carl) Hardy of Pool, WV; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
It was his wish to be cremated and memorial services will be held at a later time.
White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of the arrangements.
