James “PK” Robert Milam II
December 24, 1971 – July 16, 2025
James, known to all as “PK”, was born in Summersville, West Virginia on December 24, 1971. He was a graduate of Nicholas County High School (’90) and graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College (1990-94). While at Wesleyan, he was a proud brother of Kappa Alpha Order, majored in Graphic Art Design, and played football for the Bobcats for four years. PK later went on to graduate from Ohio Northern University School of Law (‘97).
During the early stages of his career, PK was an Assistant Prosecutor in both Kanawha and Boone counties. In 2001, he became Assistant Prosecutor in Nicholas County and was later elected and served as Nicholas County Prosecuting Attorney from 2009 to 2015. After his years prosecuting, PK began his private practice, later becoming what it is today – Milam Law Firm.
PK was heavily involved in the community, particularly supporting local youth. For nearly two decades, he was a beloved and legendary coach for Summersville Little Bears football, where he passed on his love of football and inspired a new generation of young athletes. For the last 10 years, he served as President of Summersville Youth Athletics, a charitable organization. He was a member of the Catholic fraternal organization, The Knights of Columbus.
When he wasn’t working, PK was an avid fisherman, chef, and golfer. He loved side-by-side rides with his beloved dog, Judge, and grand-dog, Millie. He also loved to travel.
PK was the son of James Robert and Elizabeth Milam. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lori Milam, and their two sons, James “Trey” Robert Milam III (Olivia) and Roman Milam, his sister, Amy Nuzum (Mike) brother, Kevin Milam (Erin), and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Milam.
Words cannot describe the incredible man PK was. He will be remembered for the unconditional love he showed his family and friends. His unmatched humor, unforgettable dance moves, and shit-eating grin left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. PK was the very definition of a family man – he took immense pride in providing for and loving his family. His heart was as big as Texas, and he never hesitated to help someone in need.
