Janet Ruth Ray

     Janet Ruth Ray, 82, of Canvas, WV passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 in the Peyton Hospice House at Lewisburg.  Born December 31, 1939 at Canvas, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Ray and Minnie Bell McClung Ward.  She was also preceded in death by a son, John Ray Moore.

     She was a woman of faith, believed in the Lord, loved to garden, and work with her flowers.

     Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Amick and Cynthia Moore; stepson, Vearl Ray; granddaughters, Bobbie Lynn LaVelle, Heather Nicole Amick, Holly Casey, and Ashley Wilson; two grandsons, Jacob Earl Amick and Josh Ray; great grandchildren, Emily R. Bailes, CJ Everidge, Jordan Everidge, Natellie Taylor, Adeline Taylor, Jonathon Ball, TJ Ball, Chantz Casey, and Dalton Spencer.

     Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in the Fairview Cemetery at Nettie with Pastor Vernon McCarthy officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.
