Jennings H. Lilly

Jennings H. Lilly, 82, of Mt. Nebo, WV passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Born February 1, 1938 at Nallen, he was a son of the late Wendell Courtney and Neva Viola Ramsey Lilly. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gwen McClung Lilly and by two brothers, Curtis Lee Lilly and John Courtney Lilly. He was a retired coal miner and was a survivor of the Hominy Falls Mining Disaster in 1968 and an avid coon hunter. He was a very strong, generous, and caring man who loved his family very much. His smile was contagious and could light up a room and he was always good for a few good stories. Survivors include son, Jeffrey Lilly of Summersville; daughters, Kathy and her husband, Sam O’Dell of Summersville and Karen and her husband, Greg Auxier of Mt. Nebo; siblings, Ruth Lowe, Dora Harlow, Shirley Hall, David Lilly, Patricia Wilson, Bradford Lilly, Terry Lilly, and Tony Lilly; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Gilgal Church Cemetery at Mt. Nebo with Tim Painter officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 where COVID 19 restrictions will be followed.
