John Granvil James

     John Granvil James, 79 , of Nettie, WV passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023.  Born November 28, 1943 at Tioga, WV, he was a son of the late Ivan and Anna Mae Justice James.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ivan James, Jr., sisters, Cookie Hodges, Della Clemens, and Loretta Borchers.

     He was a Christian and he was retired from the food industry from Smith Food King.

     Survivors include three children, Sabrina (Steve) Rhoden of Aurora, OH, Steven (Monica) James of Moorpark, CA, and Matthew James of San Diego, CA; siblings, Henry James of Nettie and Velda Malcomb of Camden-on-Gauley; six grandchildren, Ashleigh James, Hunter James, Grace James, Madison James, Miranda Rhoden, and Kepler Rhoden; and a host of other family and friends.

     A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023 in the Jordan Chapel Fellowship Hall at Canvas.

     White Funeral Home at Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.
