John A. Morrison, 93, of Summersville, WV passed away at the WVU-Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center. Born January 11, 1931 at Slab Fork, he was a son of the late Jennings and Elizabeth Perry Morrison. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta L. Dooley Morrison, two daughters, Karen Morrison and Debra Perkins Fields; two brothers, Lawrence Morrison and Jennings Morrison, Jr., and by two sisters, Nannie Smith and Libby Smith.
He was a member of the Jordan Chapel United Methodist Church at Canvas, was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, was a former surveyor for Bob Dunlap and Army Corp of Engineers, and was a former employee of Sewell Coal Company.
Survivors include two sons, Keith and Richard and his wife, Jennie; sister-in-law, Judy Morrison; five grandchildren, Nathan, Elisabeth, Rebekah, Jonathan, and Christy; seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in the White Funeral Home at Summersville. Interment will follow in the Groves Family Cemetery at Canvas.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one-hour prior to the funeral services.
