Josephine Pearl Hartley, 91, of Summersville, WV passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in the WVU-Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center Extended Care Facility. Born October 25, 1931 at Marfrance in Greenbrier County, she was a daughter of the late Lacy and Finest Summers Hughart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Leewood Hartley; daughter, Diana Lynn DeBoard; son, Lester Allen Hartley; two grandsons, Jason Hartley and Adam DeBoard; and siblings, Harold Hughart, Kathleen Sloan, Franklin and his wife, Jeanette Hughart, Geraldine Roberts, Romey Hughart, and Evelyine Jane Fisher.
She was a charter member of the Reynolds Street Freewill Baptist Church in Summersville, loved to make her award winning pound cake, and she loved to travel on cruises around the world..
Survivors include her son, Melvin (Libby) Hartley of Fayetteville; daughter, Robin Wilson of Summersville; siblings, Victory (Shirley) Hughart, Corine McMillion, and Maxine (BJ) Gates; grandchildren, Chris, Joey, Matthew, Robert, Katie, Sherry, Becca, and Jenna; several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 in the White Funeral Home at Summersville with Pastor Arnold Nicholas officiating. Interment will follow in the Ward Road Cemetery at Nettie.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday one-hour prior to the funeral services.
