Juanita Frances Halstead

     Juanita Frances Halstead, 91, of Mt. Lookout, WV passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 in the CAMC-Plateau Medical Center at Oak Hill.  Born November 20, 1934 at Mt. Lookout, she was a daughter of the late Homer C. and Susie B. Arthur Hess.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Hess.

     She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at Mt. Lookout,  she attended business college at Charleston, WV, a homemaker, and she was a former secretary at the Stull Lumber Company.

     Survivors include five sons, Oscar William and his wife, Pam, Billy Joe and his wife, Melissa, David Lewis and his wife, Jody, James Francis Halstead, and Eddy Halstead; two daughters, Connie Jean Samples and her husband, Lee and Ocie Pearl Halstead; siblings, Shirley Morgan, Beulah Hess, Jessie O’Dell, Bonnie Hess, Kenneth Hess, and Alvin Hess; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

     Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery at Mt. Lookout with Pastor Rick Childers officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Summersville.

     There will be no visitation.
