Mae Jane Hanshaw

Mae Jane Hanshaw, 85, of Poe, WV went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the WVU-Summersville Reginal Extended Care Facility.  Born June 7, 1937 at Poe, WV she was a daughter of the late William and Elsie Hypes Gray.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay R. Hanshaw in 2014.

      She attended the Bethel Church in Poe where she loved to sing.  She also loved to travel and spoil her grandchildren.

      Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Summers of Lockwood, Julie (Curt) Bangay of Canada, Kelly (Bryan) Salisbury of Mt. Nebo and Stephen Hanshaw of Lockwood; four siblings, Doris Matthews of Summersville, Barbara (Ray) Beatty of Florence, KY, Laura “Kathy” (Bob) O’Dell of Poe, and Mark (Melissa) Gray of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Tonya) Summers and Timothy (Whitney) Hanshaw, both of Summersville, Jonathan Coffman, Jay Michael Coffman both of Ohio, and Tyler Simpson of Stratford, CT; three great grandchildren, Hayleigh, Sammy, and Joey Coffman; and a host of other family and friends.

      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the White Funeral Home at Summersville with Pastors Arvin Hanshaw and Arnold Nicholas officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery at Poe.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
