Marcia Lynn Farthing, 73, of Summersville, WV passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in the Bowers Hospice House at Beckley. Born March 11, 1952 at Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Dennis M. and Lula M. McClung Donaldson. She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Margaret Geis.
She was a member of the Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church at Glade Creek, was a retired registered nurse having worked at Summersville Memorial Hospital, Nicholas County Health Department, and at the Faltis Shelter at Muddlety. She enjoyed bowling, camping, spoiling her grandchildren, and caring for her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William Farthing, III; two daughters, Sara Legg and Heather (Robert) Bell; her beloved dog, Annie Marie; two stepdaughters, Melissa (Tony) Gregory and Mandy Sebert; four siblings, Allen (Trish) Donaldson, Larry (Cheryl) Donaldson, Charlotte (Mike) Bays, and Kay (Mike) Smalley; grandchildren, Chelsea (Koti) Hollstein, Brandon Dorsey, Makala Bell, Evan Bell, Olivia Bell, Alex (Carey) Geis, Lindsay (Aaron) Zarczynski, Derek Sebert, and Eryn Sebert; and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 in the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Summersville with Pastor Allen Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Calvin.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
