Mary Agnes Cartwright

      Mary Agnes Cartwright, 73, of Summersville, WV passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 at her home.  Born October 29, 1951 in Richwood, WV she was a daughter of Ruthalene Dennison McClung and the late Chester Lee Thompson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Basil “Gomer” Cartwright; one son, Daniel LeRoy McClung; brother, James “Bimbo” Thompson.

      She was a Christian and a homemaker.  She was also a former housekeeper at Comfort Inn in Summersville.

      Survivors include her son, J.R. Cartwright; daughter, Tammy Wamsley and her companion, Michael Lewis; five sisters, Rosie Corbitt, Lulabelle Jones, Patricia Ward, Shirley Johnson, Amy Neff; one grandchild, Angelia Boggess of Bradenton, FL; two great grandchildren, Alia Hardt and Ryan Foyle, both of FL.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Summersville with Pastor Arnold Nicholas officiating.  Interment will follow in the Groves Cemetery at Canvas.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
