Miguel Troy Hicks

     Miguel Troy Hicks passed away on September 29, 2023 in Lexington, Kentucky.

     Miguel was born on June 14, 2001 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. From the time he was a toddler, he was a standout athlete, excelling in soccer, lifting, wrestling, and baseball.  Many of our fondest memories revolve around his superior athleticism. Miguel needed to be busy and was known to be a hard worker; he loved working with his hands. As a child he spent countless hours building impressive Lego structures. As an adult, he spent time working in manufacturing, roofing construction, and landscaping—excelling in all areas. Miguel was loyal and selfless, to a fault. He always looked out for others and cared very deeply for his family and friends. He approached everything in life with admirable passion: music, sports, cooking were some of his favorite hobbies.

     Miguel is survived by his parents: father, Bill Hicks and mother, Michelle Hicks; Siblings, Erin Sweeney (Josh), Drew Hicks (Ashley), Max Hicks (Courtney), and Amyah Halstead; and maternal grandparent, Linda Miller. Miguel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparent, Michael Miller, and paternal grandparents Bill and Emmajean Hicks.

      A viewing for Miguel will be held at White Funeral Home in Summerville, WV on Tuesday, October 3 from 6:00-8:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hope in the Hills at:  https://healingappalachia.org/donate
