April 1, 2022 1:52 PMMozelle is a model for Americans to follow today. When we first started finding Rosies in West Virginia, we did not know what treasures we would find, and we are blessed to have found her early in our work. We first memorialized in our film: We Pull Together: Rosie the Riveters then and Now. That was just the beginning.
Her gentle nature and her belief in America continue to speak to our goal of getting all Americans to look for Rosies, get their stories, and do projects that represent what was most important to the, which was to pull together to do highest-quality work in a cooperative spirit, because Rosies helped us to have the freedom to work together for a higher goal.
Personally, Mozelle was important to my going on through some difficult times as we did work to build the foundation for he American Rosie Movement. I so needed to hear, "I love you!", and she said it every time we talked. I attach her photo with the king and queen of the Netherlands at Arlington, Cemetery, on June 2, 2015, but I remember her most because she helped me believe that we will succeed at a national movement that does not blame, but gets people doing quieter things that prove we can use our freedom to celebrate our freedom.
