Norma Ruth Brown

Norma Ruth Brown, 92, of Whitewater Road, Summersville, WV passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 in the Peyton Hospice House at Lewisburg.  Born January 21, 1933 at Elk Ridge, Fayette County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Cora Painter Harmon.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Strawn V. Brown; sisters, Betty Baker and Joyce Musser.

     She was a member of the Pierson Chapel Community Church at Zela, was a former teacher’s aide at Zela Elementary and Summersville Elementary, was a volunteer at Summersville Memorial Hospital, and she loved to crochet.

     Survivors include her children Gary (Francine) Brown, Cathy (Dennis) Adkins, and Lisa Brown; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in the Pierson Chapel Community Church at Zela with Pastors Phil Hickman and Arnold Nicholas officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Summersville.

     Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of services.
