Ozalene "Jean" Chapman

     Ozalene “Jean” Chapman, 83, of Liberty, WV departed this life on Saturday, August 19, 2023.  Born Feb. 18, 1940 at Wilsondale, WV, she was the daughter of the late Avery and Lois Jonas Maynard.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Cletis Maynard.

     Ozalene retired from Krogers in Summersville and attended the Wade Chapel United Methodist Church.

     Those left to cherish her memory includes her devoted husband of 63 years, James S. Chapman; daughter, Sheree (Chapman) Groves and husband, Eric “Dino” Groves; granddaughter, Rachel D. Groves Burns and husband Shawn; great grandson, Arthur N. Burns.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 in the White Funeral Home at Summersville with Pastor Eddie Groves officiating.  Interment will follow in the WV Memorial Gardens at Calvin.

     Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one-hour prior to the funeral services.
