Rebecca C. “Becky” Skeens, 84, of Nettie, WV passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at her home. She was born June 15, 1938 at Brownsville, TX; she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Refugia Yturria Cavazos. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Hortencia Herrera, Ruben Cavazos, Richard Cabazos, Daniel Cavazos, Aurora Caceres, Rachel Pendleton, and Lydia Martinez.
She was a Christian and a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church at Summersville and was a retired school contract bus driver for Nicholas County, she loved taking care of her flowers, and was very involved in her community helping others in any way that she could.
Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Denver R. Skeens; children, Rodney Magee, Katherine Snider, Jack Magee, Denise Schmitt, Jessica Bowyer; Cindy Commeau, Suzette Lawson, and Vicki Blanchard; one sister, Tencha Nevius; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the Emmanuel Baptist Church at Summersville with Pastor Butch Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Skeens Family Cemetery at Nettie under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
