Roger Allen Woods

Roger Allen Woods, 57, of Summersville, WV passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.  Born May 17, 1965 at Clay, he was a son of Genevieve Adkins Woods and the late, Carl B. Woods.  He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Woods, Barbara Woods, and Mary Woods-Kiser; two brothers, Dale Woods and Robert Woods.  

     He was a former surface miner and skilled equipment operator.  He was also a farmer and logger.

     Surviving besides his mother are his children, Derek (Jacklynn) Woods and Logan Woods; step-son, Jeffery Hilton; special daughter, Linda Adkins-Brown; granddaughter, Ashlynn Woods; mother, Genevieve Adkins Woods of Enon; siblings, Brenda Woodrum of Mt. Nebo, Carol (Arnold) Woods of Summersville; Rodney (Michelle Woods of Mt. Nebo, Jason (Wanda) Woods of Summersville, Janet (Jimmy) Foster of Summersville; and many nieces and nephews.

      Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the White Funeral Home at Summersville with Pastor Arnold Nicholas officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woods Family Cemetery at Josh’s Drive in Summersville.  Friends may call at the funeral home on the day of the service one hour prior.
