Roy Allen Taylor, 78, of Summersville, WV passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the WVU-Summersville Regional Medical Center. Born August 12, 1945 at Montgomery he was a son of the late Harley and Annie Hart Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert, Ralph, Romie, Kenneth, Richard, and James; one sister, Evelyn Swagger.
He was baptized on March 10th of this year. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for local coal mines and was a member of the UMWA.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carolyn Sue Jenkins Taylor; one son, James Allen (Patty) Taylor; two daughters, Sharon Lynn Taylor and Elizabeth Ann (John) Anderson; one brother, Hearold Taylor; two sisters, Brenda Johnson and Betty Ashley; grandchildren, Eric (Olivia) Smallwood, Kristie (Tommy) Burke, Jarrett Herndon, Noah (Nicole) Anderson, Cameron Anderson and Cristian Anderson; and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the Groves Cemetery at Canvas with Pastor Joe Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Groves Cemetery at Canvas under the direction of the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
