Sandra Moss

       Sandra Moss, 84, of Birch River, WV passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Stonerise of Beckley.  Born September 19, 1938 at Widen, WV, she was a daughter of the late James and Marjorie Hall Hamric.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James “Catty” Moss and by one brother, Eugene Hamric.

      Sandra was a member of Powell’s Mountain Baptist Church, sang in the choir, and was a devoted Pastors wife at various churches in the Nicholas County area.  She was an employee at the rubber plant in Richwood and a nurse’s aid at Summersville Hospital.  Some of her fondest memories were to camp and ski on Sutton Lake at Baker’s Run.

      Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rick (Retha) Moss, Tina (Johnny) Baughman, Patty (Dave) Wheeler, and Lanty (Tammie) Moss; siblings, Paul (Elaine) Hamric, Russell (Holly) Hamric, Linda (Al) Deriso; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of other church family and friends.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Powell’s Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Linn Schiefer and Pastor Butch Collins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mountain View Memorial Park at Richwood under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
