Shirley A. McClung, 86, of Canvas, WV passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. Born April 25, 1938 in Cabins, Hardy County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Harold Clark and Ethel Pearl Watts Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John David “Davie” McClung; siblings, Judy Kidd, Jim Brown, Peggy Nunley, Richard Dale “Rick” Brown, Sam Brown, and Leonard Brown.
She was a lifelong resident of Nicholas County and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her children, Darlene Moul of Belle, Rhonda McClung of Mt. Nebo, and John David McClung, Jr. of Canvas; two grandchildren, Matthew Moul and Dustin McClung; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Bradley, Faith, Rhylee, Haylee, and Alaya.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in the Groves Family Cemetery at Canvas with Pastor Ryan Trescott officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Summersville.
In keeping with her wish, there will be no visitation.
