Susan Jean Blankenship

     Susan Jean Blankenship, 77, of Mt. Nebo, WV passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 in the WVU-Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center.  Born September 30, 1948 at Clarksburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late James Earl and Jean E. Lowe Bates. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Bates and by two sisters, Martha Bellinger and Connie Humphrey.

     She was a Christian, attended Reynolds Street Freewill Baptist Church in Summersville, was a former waitress at the Stonewall Jackson Grill for many years, was the owner/operator of Susie’s Classic Cleaning, and was the owner of Down Home Candles.

     Survivors include four children, Robin Skinner, Heather Bailey, Jeanie Blankenship, and David Blankenship; siblings, Debbie Roberts and Janie Hudnall; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

     It was her wish to be cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date.
