Thomas Edward “Tim” Fitzwater, Jr., 65, of Summersville passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 in the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Born September 21, 1960 at Charleston, he was the son of Thomas E. and Peggy Dooley Fitzwater, Sr. of Summersville.
Tim was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church, Safety Director for Black Hawk Mining, a WV State Mine Inspector (MHS&T), and worked at Evergreen Mining in Webster County. He was a former member of the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department, he loved to be on his boat the “Dirty Pirate” at Summersville Lake, and he loved to travel and go to the beach.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sara Fitzwater; children, Ryan (Johnathon) Adkins, Sean (Tyler) Fitzwater, and Chad Fitzwater; parents, Tom and Peggy Fitzwater; mother-in-law, Donna (Charlie) Roop; sister, Deanna (Rick) Sweeney; grandchildren, Owen and Jack Adkins; and a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Summersville Baptist Church Family Life Center in Summersville with Pastor Dana Gatewood officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Family Life Center on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.
