Viola May Lovejoy

Viola May Lovejoy, 90, of Norwood, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.  Born February 23, 1934 in Snow Hill, Nicholas County, WV she was a daughter of the late Cleve and Ida Walton Young.  She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

      She was a employee at SunBridge Nursing Home for 25 years in Silver City, NC.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

      Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Eva (David) Gardin; son, Thomas (Cindy) Baxter; grandchildren, Melissa (Daniel) Efrid, John (Miakia) Bennett, Jennifer (Jamie) VanHoy, Tyler Gardin, Tommy Baxter, Rebecca Baxter; great grandchildren, Cheyenne, William, Leora, Leo, Justin, Addison, Jacob; brothers, Pat Young, Paul Young; sister, Susan Plunkett; special friend, Teresa McPherson; and a host of other family and friends.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Summersville with Pastor Dana Gatewood officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at the Dorsey Cemetery in Runa at a later date.
