Obituary
Violet Lucille Thayer, 75, of Sutton, WV passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Born October 6, 1947 at Richwood, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Erma V. Cutlip Griffin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Cleveland Thayer; two brothers, William H. “Johnny” Griffin and James Richard Griffin.
She was a Baptist by faith and was the chief tax deputy for Braxton County Sheriff’s office for more than 20 years.
Survivors include five siblings, Virginia Ruth Brewster of Garrett, IN, Isabelle Louise and Danny Bushnell of Sutton; Buddy Mason Griffin of Jane Lew, Janet Sue and Mark Given of Springfield, MO, and Pamella Annette and Vic Gazitano of Bedford, TX; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville with Rev. Janet Given officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville..
Extended family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
