Watha Russell

Watha Russell, 75, of Nettie, WV went to her Heavenly Home unexpectedly on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in the WVU-Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center.  Born April 17, 1946 at LaFrank, WV, she was a daughter of the late Quill and Minnie Bailes.

      She was an incredibly loving and selfless person who loved her family the wholeness of her being.  She was a genuine caretaker who was giving and loving and tried to take care of everyone.  As the tough times came, her shoulder was the rock for any family member needing direction, help or strength.  Watha’s strong constitution and Faith in God willed the way to better days, unfaltering.  She loved working in her garden and preserving the harvest, reading, taking care of flowers and feeding the birds.  Her most precious days were preparing delicious meals for the family and standing back watching them enjoy it.  If you just dropped by, you were sure to leave fed, she always made sure of it.  Always giving and never asking for anything for herself. 

     Watha will be missed by her husband, Doy Russell of 44 years and her children, Joyce, Danny Tinnel, Kim, Terry Bosely. Denny Boggs and Chad, Sara Russell, Rita, Randy McMillion, Doy, Chris Russell, Roy, Missy Russell; grandchildren, Cassy, Blake Hutchins, Justin, Ashley McMillion, Amber, Nathan Smarr, Elaine, Curren Sheldon, Emily Cartwright, Kasha Russell, Zachary Russell, Tyler, Tanya Bosely, Austin Tinnel, Jeremiah Russell, Wyatt Boggs, Kelsie Fields, Dylan Boggs and Nevaeh Russell and she was blessed with 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Wanda Perrine, Wayne Bailes, and Willa “Sue” Grafton.

      Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Russell Family Cemetery on Fenwick Mountain with Pastors Jack Fisher and Von Sadler      officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.
