William “Pat” Farthing, III, 87, of Summersville, WV passed away in the Summersville Healthcare Center on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. He was born in Durham, NC on June 16, 1938. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ganelle Teer Farthing, his wife, Marcia Lynn Donaldson Farthing, daughter, Maggie Geis, and by a sister, Gail Drewry.
He was a member of the Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church at Glade Creek, was a retired equipment operator in the construction business, was a former employee at Lowe’s of Summersville, and he enjoyed camping, spoiling his grandchildren, and caring for his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Sara Legg, Heather (Robert) Bell, Melissa (Tony) Gregory, and Mandy Sebert; his beloved dog, Annie Marie; grandchildren, Chelsea (Koti) Hollstein, Brandon Dorsey, Makala (Zachary) Dye, Evan (Kristen) Bell, Olivia Bell, Alex (Carey) Geis, Lindsay (Aaron) Zarczynski, Derek Sebert, and Eryn Sebert; and several great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5 2026 in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel at Calvin with Pastor Shawn Frame officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the White-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Center at Summersville.
The family will receive friends at the mausoleum chapel on Friday one-hour prior to the services.
